What makes Chyde stand out in the genre of lofi is his hard appearence vs the emotions in his songs.
Erik William Nettelbjer grew up in a small suburb north of Stockholm, Sweden. By the time he was 10 years old he had created “Chyde” and was winning school competitions with his rap.
It all began 2002 when Chyde was played a song called “Bad Times” with the Swedish rap-group ‘The Narcs’. Purely falling in love with the sound of hiphop, Chyde started writing his own lyrics. But it wasn’t until he heard “The Eminem Show” by “Eminem” the same year he became obsessed with the artform.
In junior high school, Chyde sang in a choir for 3 years where he developed his singing skills. High school he studied music at ‘Fryshuset’ under “Aaron Phiri” known from “Hearin' Aid” and “Leafnuts” known for his influence in the reggae world.
Fast forward to 2018, Chyde released his first single & album officially. 2019 his fame took an increase when he released his lofi single “Once Upon a Time”. 2020 he got in touch with Pierre Hesselbrandt, a famous figure in Sweden and their encounter ended with the song “Messages from the Other Side” which was published in several articles the whole summer.
2021 he dropped “I can’t help” featuring “Sarcastic Sounds”, a song out of 9 others which was originally released in ‘18 but re-uploaded after many requests from fans.
